Good Housekeeping Interview: A Nomadic Single Mom’s Story

Updated: Jan 18, 2022

#tbt Wow. As of March 20th, it’s has been 4 years since we left our old life to work, homeschool, and travel full time until further notice. 😂

It feels great to admit that after 4 years of being nomadic, l still don’t regret donating our things, homeschooling, working from anywhere, moving into a van, and moving on a whim as often as we please. We’ve had obstacles and excitement along the way and every single experience has been worth the sacrifice!

This unconventional lifestyle isn’t for everyone, but we’ve definitely made it work for us! Living this way has helped our family reach our personal and professional goals in a fraction of the time that it would’ve taken if we hadn’t sacrificed old habits.

I.e

-Working jobs I hated or did just for money.

-Not having enough time to spend with family

-Having shiny new things but being broke at the end of every month, and let’s not forget to address the stress from only making minimum payments on credit cards. 🙄 I rarely use my credit cards these days, and it feels good to be out of the “rat race,” as some say. I used to feel threatened by the 1st of every month when rent was due, and now I forget what day it is. 😂

I don’t miss looking more accomplished than how I felt inside. Life is 100 times better now that we have more priceless experiences than headaches.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but ….Whatever move or life changing decision is calling you….go for it! Everything will come together in the timing that it needs to. Just be true to your purpose, persevere through your journey and trust the process. 🙏🏽
